Who is Jesus and Why Did He Come?
Jesus is more than a historical figure. He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life! Discover why He came

Romans 3:23 (NKJV) – “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
The Blessed Sanctuary
There is no message more urgent, more powerful, and more life-changing than this: Jesus Saves. The entire Bible—from Genesis to Revelation—declares the need for salvation and the way God has provided it through Jesus Christ. The message of salvation is not just a doctrine; it is the very heart of God’s love for mankind.
Who is Jesus and Why Did He Come?
Jesus is not just a prophet, a teacher, or a moral leader. He is God in the flesh, the only one capable of saving humanity.
John 14:6 (NKJV) – “Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.’”
Jesus came for one reason—to save sinners.
Luke 19:10 (NKJV) – “For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”
Salvation is not a man-made idea. It is God’s plan, established before the foundation of the world. Jesus Christ, the sinless Son of God, was sent to bear the punishment for our sins. He lived a perfect life, fulfilling every requirement of the law, and then willingly gave Himself up to die on the cross.
Isaiah 53:5 (NKJV) – “But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.”
At the cross, Jesus took our place. He bore the wrath of God that we deserved. He cried out, “It is finished!” (John 19:30), declaring that the debt of sin was paid in full. Three days later, He rose from the dead, proving His victory over sin and death.
The Call to Repentance and Faith
Salvation is available to all, but it requires a response. Jesus preached repentance and faith as the only way to receive eternal life.
Mark 1:15 (NKJV) – “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.”
Repentance means turning away from sin and turning to God. It is not merely feeling sorry but making a complete change of heart and direction. True faith is placing total trust in Jesus Christ—believing that His death and resurrection are sufficient for our salvation.
Acts 4:12 (NKJV) – “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
No other religion, philosophy, or personal effort can bring salvation. Only Jesus saves.
The Eternal Consequence of Rejecting Christ
Some might ask, “What if I choose to reject Jesus? Can’t I live my own way and still be fine?” The Bible gives a sobering warning:
John 3:36 (NKJV) – “He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”
There are only two destinations after death—eternal life with God or eternal separation from Him. Heaven is real, but so is hell.
Revelation 20:15 (NKJV) – “And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.”
Hell is not a place of parties or second chances. It is eternal judgment. This is why the gospel is urgent. The time to accept Jesus is now.
2 Corinthians 6:2 (NKJV) – “Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.”
Sin separates us from God. From the very beginning, when Adam and Eve disobeyed God in the Garden of Eden, sin entered the world, and with it, death and condemnation (Romans 5:12). No matter how good a person tries to be, the truth remains: we are all guilty before a holy God.
But God, in His infinite mercy, did not leave us in our sin. He made a way for salvation—through Jesus Christ, His Son.
The Need for Salvation
Many people believe that they can be saved by their good works, by religion, or by simply being a “good person.” But the Bible is clear: no amount of human effort can erase sin or earn eternal life.
Ephesians 2:8-9 (NKJV) – “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.”
Imagine a man drowning in the ocean. He cannot swim, and the waves are crashing over him. No matter how much he struggles, he is unable to save himself. This is the condition of every sinner without Christ—helpless and hopeless. The good news is that Jesus throws the lifeline. He is the Savior, and only He can pull us out of sin and bring us to safety.
A Personal Invitation
Right now, you have the opportunity to make the most important decision of your life. Jesus is standing at the door of your heart, calling you to come to Him.
Revelation 3:20 (NKJV) – “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.”
If you have never given your life to Christ, this is your moment. Confess your sins, turn to Him in faith, and receive the gift of salvation.
Romans 10:9-10 (NKJV) – “That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
You don’t have to be perfect. You don’t have to fix yourself before coming to Jesus. Come just as you are, and He will transform your life.
Closing Appeal
The world is filled with uncertainty, pain, and brokenness. People search for hope in money, relationships, success, or pleasure—but true hope is only found in Jesus.
John 10:10 (NKJV) – “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”
Jesus offers forgiveness, peace, and eternal life. But you must make the choice.
If you feel God speaking to your heart, do not harden your heart. Do not delay. Tomorrow is not promised. Come to Jesus today.
Would you pray this prayer sincerely?
“Lord Jesus, I acknowledge that I am a sinner in need of Your grace. I believe You died for my sins and rose again to give me eternal life. I turn away from my sins and surrender my life to You. Come into my heart, be my Lord and Savior, and help me follow You all the days of my life. Thank You for saving me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
